Dhamrai and pottery Village Bangladesh

The folk art on the pottery in Bangladesh tell stories of village life, of happiness, of family life and the life of the hard working people of Bangladesh. As for Dhamrai, it is the holy grail for the ancient “almost lost” art of brass sculpturing where wax statues are hand carved and then draped in clay, followed by molten brass and then “kilned”. The home of this fine art form looks like a zamidar (landlord) mansion with its ornate balconies and embellished window trims. Experience Bangladesh offers Brass Sculpturing classes in collaboration with the experts of Dhamrai.

The boat ride to the Potter Village,  is about 40 mins and offers a charming journey that a village where potters make all the terracotta pots, thalis, earthen ware that is still so widely used in Bangladesh.
